A most remarkable man and pianist. I had the pleasure of preparing his piano on a couple of occasions. He had a great demeanor and was very pleasant to work with. I have many of his solo/concerto recordings well outside of his work with the Beaux Arts Trio. An interesting program you show!

When one cannot summon the technique needed even for "La cathedral engloutie " , it is past time to stop. Hopefully, not a cognitive problem, rather one of denial.

This early 2018 performance critic was more charitable than I would have been of the late 2017 recital I posted : http://www.artsjournal.com/condemned/20 ... is-legacy/

In the article, the " legacy " article title is followed by a " ? ".

I do have a couple of the Beaux Arts Trio's recordings, which I enjoy greatly.

Mieczyslav Horszowski recorded four albums for Nonesuch during the 1990's while he was about the same age as Pressler is now, proving that it could be done by choosing the repertoire carefully. Very fine recordings, worth owning. Here's his last recording, which includes Bach, Chopin and Schumann:
