Spiritualist Minimalism live piano recital

Ralph Van Raat is a Dutch pianist I follow. Here live, approx. 1 hour recital , April 7,2019, at Muziekgebouw can ’t IJ:

https://www.nporadio4.nl/concerten/8682 ... h-van-raat

Otte, Hans ( 1926-2007 )
Das Buch der Klänge - nr.1 + nr.8 + nr.10

Franssens, Joep ( 1955 - )
Three Etudes

Martynov, Vladimir ( 1946 - )
Spaces of Latent Utterance

Otte, Hans
Das Buch der Klänge - nr.2

All interesting; worth hearing; pleasant hour well spent , I thought, not too long ; all works, composers new to me ( have heard only one other Martynov work). Apparently all considered “ spiritualist minimalists.” Dutchman Franssens’ first Etude here reminded me at times of Debussy’s “ La plus que lente “ Waltz ; the second of Chopin’s “Ocean “ Etude ; if both probably also a bit too “ New Age “ for some tastes. Russian Martynov begins in a chant-like manner, Far Eastern influences perhaps, then adds almost Debussy-ian or Ravel- ian treatments. German Otte the most “ minimal “ of the 3 here , most Glass-ian.

Radio 4 sometimes leaves these audio-only, on-demands up a long time ; sometimes takes down in a couple days.If the spirit moves you.
