William Schuman's "Witch of Endor" ballet, one that he wrote for Martha Graham, has finally made it to CD, on the BMOP/Sound label (the label of the Boston Modern Orchestra Project). It is coupled with "Night Journey" and "Judith," for which there are several modern recordings. (I wish that they had coupled it instead with "Undertow," for which there exists no modern recording.) The work is in Schuman's more astringent style, apparently quite dissonant, but not really atonal. I definitely intend to get this.
