Boris Giltburg recital

Post by Rach3 » Mon Apr 15, 2019 11:45 am

Pianist Boris Giltburg recital, April 14,2019,Concertgebouw,Amsterdam, Rachmaninoff 5 Preludes,1 Etude Tableaux, Prokofieff 3rd Sonata, and Giltburg’s own transcription of Shostakovich’s 3rd String Quartet ( Giltburg has also done the composer’s 8th SQ ) . A recital worth-hearing, IMHO. Giltburg usually interesting, even if I hear the music differently than he.

Just finished hearing this extraordinary recital. Am a huge fan of Giltburg, and I'm happy to say that this concert does not disappoint. The Shostakovich transcription was particularly invigorating, as was the early Prokofiev. Well done, and thanks for posting this, Rach3! 8)
