Tonight's Orlando Steffani

Gotta give BEMF credit for trying to attempt this opera with such a great production-it has plenty of pleasant music including touching arias, the singing was fine, the dancing was very nice, the comic touches were often quite clever-otoh the opera story itself was kind of weak for Sue and myself. The Wall St Journal gave it a rave review.

‘Orlando’ Review: Unearthing a Gem
Romantic jealousies and magical interventions lead to all kinds of complications in this stunning production of Agostino Steffani’s forgotten gem at the Boston Early Music Festival.
