The 5 Browns Christmas Album

Post by Lance » Tue Nov 26, 2019 12:27 pm

Exclusive Steinway artists, Steinway & Sons label has issued The 5 Browns on their label before but now comes a Christmas album that has many inspirations and charms to enjoy. We get some of the traditional pieces one might hear at Christmastime including excerpts from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite; the Harold Bauer arrangement of Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring; an interesting Carl Czerny transcription of For Unto Us a Child is Born from Handel's Messiah; Adam's O Holy Night; Leontovych's Carol of the Bells; Reger's Maria Wiegenlied; Hely-Hutchinson's A Carol Symphony; Reger's Silent Night; Waldteufel's Skater's Waltz, Busoni's Greensleeves and some other gems. What's interesting is that each of the 5 Browns play solo, duet or all five are included. Beautifully recorded and recommended for this holiday season.

"Imagine the 5 Browns holding a festive, dressy dinner party where classical piano music is the focus of the night. Snow falls and sleigh bells ring through the stories told via melody. You're invited to spend an evening of sparkling lights and pine boughs, listening to Christmas music written throughout the ages."
Lance G. Hill

When she started to play, Mr. Steinway came down and personally
rubbed his name off the piano. [Speaking about pianist &*$#@+#]
