Have not heard, probably will not, but some here may be interested in his Beethoven 8th and 9th done recently at Carnegie Hall:

Did listen today. What a fine performance! Not note-perfect (there were the expected occasional clams from the brass and winds), but overall an exciting and deeply fulfilling concert. Beethoven would have been overjoyed! The conducting was superb, just how I like it. The finale of VIII managed the articulation just right, while the finale of IX held together admirably well, a la Toscanini. A five star performance, then, a very special evening. I hope this comes out on CD or DVD.

Thanks Rach3 for an excellent experience. 8)
