Curious about the record with which he was singing along. Is it some kind of a karaoke recording with the lead dubbed out? Or was the recorded male vocal just drowned out by his voice?

I dont know, but I suspect a "Music Minus One" type recording he may use at home for practice purposes, or he made up just for this event.I hear no one drowned out.
