Dear Mr. Goran,

In light of the coronavirus pandemic, we regret to inform you that the Metropolitan Opera has canceled the remainder of the 2019–20 season, which was to have ended on May 9, 2020. This includes all performances and Live in HD transmissions. The value of your tickets in the 2019–20 season will automatically be credited to your Met Opera account within the next 48 hours. Your on-account credit can be donated or you may request a refund at any time, including after the dates of your canceled performances.

At your convenience, you may take the following actions by e-mailing metropolitanopera@metopera.org or calling Met Customer Care at 212-362-6000:

Help the Met by generously donating the value of your credit to help the company through this financially perilous time. We would be tremendously grateful for your support.*
Use your credit to purchase tickets to the 2020–21 season, including the purchase of a Series or Flex Subscription.
Request a full refund to your original method of payment. Please provide your Met customer ID number, order number, first and last name, and performance date(s) and time(s).

The Met also hopes to continue brightening the lives of our audience members even while our stage is dark. Every day a different encore presentation from the company’s Live in HD series is being made available for free streaming, with each performance available for a period of 20 hours, beginning at 7:30 p.m. EDT. Learn more at metopera.org/operastreams.

We apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment the cancellation may have caused. For additional information, please visit metopera.org/updates.

Please be aware we are currently experiencing a very high volume of inquires and long wait times in our call center. Thank you for your patience, support, and understanding during this uncertain time.

Sincerely,

Gillian Brierley
Assistant General Manager, Marketing & Communications

Very sad, Len. We will miss your presence in the Big Apple. I do hope that the MET survives the current calamity. China and Japan seem to be recovering nicely. Let's hope we do the same, and that Lincoln Center can re-open in the Fall.

Brian I'm with you on all this-it's left a gap for Sue and myself. Hope you and Teresa are handling NYC's new regs-it's so scarey. Regards, Len :(
