I really didn't see much that interested me in the WQXR lineup. The most interesting was the Dawson/Kay release. I knew the Dawson symphony from Leopold Stokowski's recording made long ago and I have always been fascinated by anything by Hershey Kay.

Lance, the work on that recording is not by Hershy Kay, but rather by Ulysses Kay. Hershy Kay was mostly an arranger and orchestrator for Broadway.

Anna Prohaska's new Bach release intrigued me. I wonder if she's any relation to the well-known conductor and Bach interpreter Felix Prohaska? Paquito D'Rivera's disc also piqued my interest, as did the Four Seasons release. Don't know if I'll buy any of these, but I'll certainly listen. :)

Yes she is Felix’s granddaughter. And she’s a delightful lady.
