Thanks so very much for posting this Rach3!

Just finished listening, and IMHO, this is so far the finest piano CD I've heard this year. Lat year, it was Vikingur Olafson's Bach recording, which, IIRC, also came from you as well.

Gvetadze's carefully chosen instrument has a warm and full sound that works very well for me in Schumann. Also, the recording quality is superb (Could this be a Steinway D?). At any rate, she plays the Arabesque with quite a bit more rubato than I'm used to hearing, but her interpretation is never offensive and adds character to what can be a hackneyed, overplayed work in the hands of many other more famous pianists. The rest of the generous album also has many effective touches here and there. Besides the excellent tone quality, Gvetadze's dynamic range is quite wide, from gently caressed pianissimos to full-throated fortes that never sound strained. I was truly impressed with her musicianship and artistry here, and plan to investigate the three other discs she has made available for streaming on American amazon as time permits.

What a very fine Schumann interpreter!

From the name, Nino, I was expecting male pianist but she is a bit too beautiful for that. :D
I'm listening now, just started the Arabesque and see what Brian means. But it doesn't offend me at all. I would also be eager to hear her Mussorgsky disc, because the music on that would be much less well known.

I thought the Arabesque was interestingly darker than usually played, although for my taste a bit over dramatic at times. The last two of Kinderscenen , the high points for me of that work, were very well done.Prophet Bird well done , but again for me too dramatic, missing some of the colors, at times.I do not connect well with Kreisleriana, thus did not hear, my issue not hers.
