Well, Neos, that label that frequently issues recordings of works of the more wacko corners of the avant-garde, has done it again. A recording of a work by the German composer Moritz Eggert, "Die Tiefe des Raumes. Ein Fußballoratorium," will be issued in April. The work is for large orchestra, soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, and baritone soloists, chorus, and three speakers. Note: the "football" referenced in the work is what would be referred to by Americans as "soccer."
Come to think of it, I cannot think of any significant works by American composers dealing with American football. If there are any, please post them.
