I have the CD with Kholodenko playing the Stravinsky. He's quite superhuman in that. Hope he can still play like that. I was a little discouraged by his recent CD of Prokofiev VI: the final bars should have been done over.
Here's the cover of the Petrouchka, a stunning CD that can be streamed on amazon:
Re: Cliburn programs for pianophiles
I have heard none of the programs , but will probably hear the Carl Vine as I enjoy his solo piano music, have a cd of his three sonatas and Anne Landa Preludes although I prefer his 3rd Sonata over Nos. 1 and 2. ( at YT ).
Re: Cliburn programs for pianophiles
Fww, the Vine program was excellent, extensive comments by the composer and pianist, too

Re: Cliburn programs for pianophiles
The program about Vine's First Sonata also mentions his 4th Sonata I had not heard. Here 'tis, the 4th, composed in 2019. A cd of several of his solo piano works is available at Amazon, 5 star reviews, also from this pianist:Rach3 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 11:45 amFww, the Vine program was excellent, extensive comments by the composer and pianist, too

Re: Cliburn programs for pianophiles
Carl Vine mentions on the Cliburn program his First Sonata was very influenced by Elliott Carter's early First Piano Sonata. My Carter is a track from a Virgin Classics CD by pianist Peter Lawson. Here the late Paul Jacobs, the influence on Vine apparent, and one of Carter's more accessible works:
