I remember them well, too! Also Burgmüller, and of course, Czerny. Watching Hamelin ... he illustrated great feeling in them with his facial gestures.

My second piano teacher was a Hanon aficionado so they were a part of every piano lesson for quite a while. Of course the Czerny were also added and of course the Bach P&F but Hanon was the start.

In case anyone did not notice: This video was posted on April 1st, ie April Fool's Day, and was intended as a spoof. Jed Distler said he certainly did not write what he is quoted as saying. The endorsements of the new Hanon project were all made up.
