Kurt Schwertsik, (1935- )

I just happened upon a book called Kurt Schwertsik und der Begriff der Moderne im Wandel, (I deal with Austrian books at the Library of Congress). I thought I remembered the name from somewhere, but it turns out he's an Austrian composer, about 89 years old by now. I figured he must be pretty avant-garde because the cover talked about his relationships with John Cage and Karlheinz Stockhausen. An illustration of one of his scores indicated something not avant-garde at all. So I looked up his music on Youtube and here's an example, and it's quite delightful.

Black lives matter.
