Susan Tomes gives us another book: "Women and the Piano"
I have some of Susan Tome's well-written books and am looking forward to "Women and the Piano: A History in 50 Lives." It embraces, I've read, women at the piano in general, not just classical, but digs back into the past with Clark Wieck Schumann, Hazel Scott, the first Black female pianist of note, historical and contemporary classical pianists. It runs 304 pages. This is usually my kind of book. A little pricey at $35/USD. But I'm sure a lot of work went into the book. It is on my list.

That one looks interesting - Loose Elbows! Much of what I see with Susan Tomes is chamber music ... this one goes to the other side. I may try to get a copy. Looks pricey on Amazon at $129! Cheaper elsewhere, of course.

Gave it a listen today - and as stated: "great fun." Susan Tomes is a natural for this music. Excellent piano - and recording as well. Thanks for the suggestion Very good listening if your mood is flat!
