Thank you all for these wonderful greetings. This birthday is quite an emotional one, and I'm grateful for all the goodness in my life right now --- and that includes CMG friends! Celebrating today with movie and dinner, tomorrow with dinner out and for the first time since I moved here, having friends and family (like more than one) for birthday cake at my dining table afterward. 'Tis a heady thing for me!

The word "Mad" touched my heartstrings for a minute -- long story, but years ago some guys at work started calling me Madeline, eventually it shortened to Mad. I had worked with one sinced the late 60's and he was a dear -- he passed away a few years back, one of those people you never forget.

Thank you, Barry! I ate dinner out 2 days in a row, yummy food to die for. Finished off with carrot cake with apricot mousse filling last nite, my son asked for an insulin chaser! I'm taking the rest of the cake to pinochle tomorrow night, it's beyond rich.

Yee Haw! Thank you! It was one indeed. One of my presents was a Shell station gift card -- cool idea!

Monday my friend took me to see the musical movie "Mamma Mia". If anyone wants to watch some middle-aged entertainers have a rollicking good time, pulling out all the stops, this is it. Of course I love ABBA's music, and this film had it all -- I laughed, I cried, I loved it. I intend to see it again ... and again ... and possibly again!
