Not to mention Post Exchange. That's right up there with IHS meaning "I Have Suffered," something "pious" English speakers of a sort (including my parents) were once (mis)-taught. (In case anyone doesn't know, it's really iota-eta-Romanized sigma, the first three letters of Jesus in Greek.)

Alas Karl, Most of us don't live in Greece, and we need to keep Christmas in the English speaking world, including the many of us ignorant of greek language. Not that Greek, and Greece, aren't great - they are. But there is a war against Christmas going on, and the Christian has a duty to keep the Messiah at the center of it all.

Just wondered Cyril if you knew what the original language of the New Testament was. Clue, not English and likely not Aramaic.

If you don't mind, I am going to go ahead an enjoy the parts I like and try ignore the parts I don't. I have amassed about 200 Christmas cds and I doubt you would find any of mention of Santa Claus and Co. on more than a dozen of them.

Are you kidding, Harold! You're on the outskirts of Cincinnati, where many of the great Christmas traditions still live. The Christians made Christmas the greatest holiday of the year - and even hollow materialism can't destroy that.
