Rank these activities in order of how good you are at them
What can I say? I'm bored...and I don't want to talk politics.
And if you have no idea how good you are because you've never attempted it, guess!
- Making an origami dragon
- Communicating with people who don't speak a common language
- Talking your way out of a speeding ticket
- Glass blowing
- Impressing your date's parents when you meet them for the first time
- Mini-golf/Putt-Putt
- Creating a floral arrangement for a wedding
Well...have at it! And explain yourself, too!

1) Impressing a date's parents: I can turn on the charm when need be; no unsightly tattoos/piercings; college-educated; etc.
2) Mini-golf: I'm no Tiger, but I can hit the ball cleanly and in the general direction I'm aiming!
3) Communicating with foreigners: I've had to learn out of necessity with all of the traveling I've done.
4) Glass blowing: I've never tried this, and I expect it to result in disaster, but I would at least HOPE I could get something out of it.
5) Origami dragon: I've tried origami before, and I just can't do small folds evenly. Sad.
6) Creating a floral arrangement: I like to say that all of my talents are found in my ears, not my eyes. I'm horrible when it comes to visual stuff, so I shudder to think of what I'd come up with.
7) Avoiding a ticket: I've tried...and failed. Several times.

I'm pretty good at put-put. And I'll leave it at that.

Well, I haven't had to talk my way out of a speeding ticket since I still have my police shield (last used in December).
As for the rest, nope.

My origami dragon torched itself
I suck at glass-blowing
My dates parents are all dead at my age - I'm great with graveyards
The cops haven't caught me yet!
Talking loud with a firearm is always effective in whatever country you're in
Me and my driver were banned from Goofy Golf
White roses intertwined with chrysanthemums are a persoanl specialty
Believe any of that anyone?

I was going to say the same thing, but without the embarrassment.Barry wrote:I'm pretty good at put-put. And I'll leave it at that.
There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

- Communicating without a common language is a guessing game that usually ends up in giggles and hand signals. I manage.
- They never buy my excuses.
- Are you kidding?
- That was so long ago I can't remember it!
- Terrible
- I'll leave that to someone who knows what they're doing.

1- Making an origami dragon
(not dragons...but quite good at cranes...made a chain of 1,000 minis for a friend fighting cancer)
2 - Communicating with people who don't speak a common language
(worked many months in Mexico and Taiwan without speaking the local language and became very good at charades & Pictionary)
3 - Talking your way out of a speeding ticket
(tried several times and it never once worked, in fact..I suspect I was once close to getting arrested)
4 - Glass blowing
(actually got to try this at the Renaissance Fair... looked like a lump of molten lava that imploded)
5 - Impressing your date's parents when you meet them for the first time
(don't have any remarkable memories of this...curious)
6 - Mini-golf/Putt-Putt
(great...up until the windmill. Can never get past that)
7 - Creating a floral arrangement for a wedding
(only if creating an emergency cake topper out of a small styro bowl turned upside down and poking holes in it to arrange lots of flowers counts.)

Re: Rank these activities in order of how good you are at them
I'm pleased to report I've never had a speeding ticket....but did get a warning once in Chicago, about 15 years ago. When dating in the 1950's & early 1960's always got along very well with parents. Those were different times, when one was expected to pick up the young lady at home and get her back home by a reasonable if not specific time. And most often we were using public transportation, which ran less frequently after midnight. During cold weather I was always invited in for hot chocolate or tea before venturing back out into the elements.Ralph wrote:Well, I haven't had to talk my way out of a speeding ticket since I still have my police shield (last used in December).

It's good to be back among friends from the past.
