That's just stupid. When President Obama took office in 2008, we had just suffered the worse economic crash since 1929. During the last 7 years, the economy has nonetheless recovered and the unemployment rate continues to go down. Wall Streeters fear that the economy is doing so well that the Federal Reserve will finally raise interest rates. The problems described in the article are real but they are structural, existed before 2008, and can't be blamed on the President. Except, of course, by people who want to make political hay, or are...stupid.

The real unemployment rate has got to be at least 10% and might even be closer to 15%. It's hard to say since once you're no longer getting unemployment benefits and/or no longer looking, you're not counted. Nor does it count those working part time, but who desire to work full time (but can't find full time work). It also doesn't factor in the many who were forced to take much lower paying jobs just to find something.

The only thing that's recovered is the stock market, but many fear (myself included) that is has been artificially boosted by the Fed's printing of money and may not last.

All the indicators are that everyone but the rich are poorer now than when Obama took office, especially the middle class.

And if they are further taxed you'll never see or get one cent of it. Ever. But rest assured, your taxes will be raised once they procure your vote by you thinking they are only going to further tax the rich.

This is what they want you to believe. Utopia not only never comes, but everyone gets progressively poorer and poorer (except the rich) because of the opposition -- they tell you. The 'troops' never figure it out and further down we all go. We would only all go down further and faster without the opposition stopping some of the agenda.

Wait a minute now. I thought the stimulus bill from 2009 was supposed to fix our crumbling infrastructure? Where did that money go?

They don't specifically refer to it as that, but it is effectively what they are striving to achieve. All you have to do is pay attention to the language they use to describe things they want, like for example 'universal health care', which is a utopian concept. And of course the 'troops' will say it's not a quest for utopia, but again it effectively is whether they're consciously aware of it or not.

The great self made thinker Eric Hoffer I think explained this best. He said something to the effect that "their minds have never gone through puberty.....they still think some kind of idealized utopia with little to no suffering or inequity is possible." The conservatives (at least the disciplined fiscal conservatives) are the adults who know better and won't let the children go play.

If the economy recovered, it was due to the hard work and ingenuity of the American
worker and not anything the BO administration did. The employment figures can be
manipulated show anything anybody wants. They don’t include those who just stopped
looking, part timers (probably those who can’t qualify for Obamacare)... Don’t look now,
but BO stopped even pretending to be Prez right after he lost the House and Senate...

If you're saying that presidents are very limited in what they can do to promote economic activity, and don't deserve much credit for a growing economy, there's certainly truth in that. But it also means that presidents don't deserve blame when the economy goes down. Politicians pretend they do, but it's not true.

There's not a video in that link. BTW, I'm not saying our private healthcare system is spectacular. In fact, I think it's highly inefficient and needs significant changes. There is a lot of waste, and it's become too expensive.

Also, don't confuse with health care coverage for all as meaning everyone ultimately gets the care they think they need or deserve. They don't, and this is often what's attempted to be swept under the rug by those pushing for 'universal care'. You need to get both sides of the story, because single payer isn't all it's cracked up to be.
