Iran Threatens to Walk Away From Nuke Deal After New Missile Test

They already got all the money and have successfully scammed us into giving it to them. What's in it for them now to even pretend they're trying to honor the agreement? Obama isn't going to do squat regardless of what they do.

Trump is right. This was probably the worst and stupidest deal in world political history. It's too late now.

The Washington Free Beacon (who are they?) has got it wrong. The Iran nuclear deal does not lift US sanctions relating to missiles, which have remained in place. According to the Beacon story, "The Obama administration moved forward with new sanctions earlier this year as a result of the country’s previous missile tests."

The Iranian deputy foreign minister is quoted as saying, “If our interests are not met under the nuclear deal, there will be no reason for us to continue.” Of course! That goes without saying. And if US interests are not met under the nuclear deal, we wouldn't continue it either.

The Beacon goes on, “'If other parties decide, they could easily violate the deal,' Araqchi was quoted as saying by Iran’s state-controlled media. 'However, they know this will come with costs.' Araqchi appeared to allude to the United States possibly leveling new economic sanctions as a result of the missile test." Wrong. He was alluding to the nuclear deal, which does not cover Iranian missile development.

All this is very complicated. The missile firings were not by the Iranian military but by the Revolutionary Guard, a separate force whose chain of command is obscure. Were they acting on command of the legitimate Iranian government or with its authorization, or was this a rogue action designed to undercut the legitimate government? We need to wait and see.

Meanwhile, there's no reason why the US shouldn't increase sanctions on Iran as it did before. The nuclear deal does not prevent this and indeed has nothing to say about it. And as long as Iran observes the provisions of the nuclear deal, their missile testing is a side issue. A missile without a warhead isn't much of a threat.

Why am I not re-assured by any of this? The bottom line is they already got the money, and seem to already be thinking there is little point -- or it's against their interests -- to even continue publically claiming to uphold the deal. That doesn't sound very good to me.

Why do we not believe a word you say?

Because your sources are Trump schills, and you are a Trump Troll.

This should be in your Trump Thread.

Please keep all your crap in one place, if you have a serious and credible news source, and a serious and credible story then maybe consider a new Thread.
