Logging in annoyances

Can anyone suggest why. every few days I must log in even though I click on automatic login each time? This only happens on this forum, no other. And two weeks ago, for several days I could not even rerregister, as requested. Any ideas? I do not participate as much as others, but I do once in awhile. I have been a member for 20 years or so. And I look in several times a day. I am using an ipad these days and the fonts are small, my eyesight is getting worse, and my fingers are not as steady than they once were. So logging in each time is a chore. Seriously. Any ideas why this occurs so frequently?

What do you mean, "click on automatic login"? I see no such option in my browser (Firefox), which has saved my CMG user ID and password. It logs me in when I go to http://www.classicalmusicguide.com/, automatically and without fail.

If you post here which browser you use and precisely what you do when going to CMG's home page (and I do mean precisely), maybe someone here can sort it out for you.

Alan means stay logged in and not anything doing with a browser. It has happened to me a few times but not often enough to be a nuisance. It's more important that I remember to logout on any computer other than the one I use at home so that no stranger can follow or hack me. Once I was substitute teaching and forgot that the Smartboard connection was still on. It took a reasonably friendly student to tell me that anyone could see what I was writing, to which I responded (correctly) that classical music is always educational. And Alan, if you have been here for 20 years, why are you only showing 44 posts, our multiple crashes notwithstanding?

"Stay logged in" has nothing to do with automatically logging in when visiting a site after booting or rebooting, so I don't think that's what Alan is talking about. When he explains further what he does, maybe we can help him.

With Firefox, the setting for auto logins is under Tools | Security | Logins. Check the box for "Remember logins for sites." To check whether a login has been saved, click on "Saved logins" on the same page. You can then verify whether a CMG login has been saved and whether the user ID and password are correct. Delete the saved login, and Firefox will offer to save your user ID and password the next time you visit the site.

It has happened to me a few times but not often enough to be a nuisance.

Yes same for me-only very rarely but I make sure to carry the password with me-especially when away from home at a hotel and using my tablet. Regards, Len

I only use iPads and iPhone to check the site, I'm constantly having to log in. I suspect you are using Safari, which like Mail is one of the worst things Apple makes.

On the iPad. I use iPad2 and only occasionally need to re-login.

Open Settings from home screen.

Scroll down on left and click Safari.

On right, turn on "Names and Passwords" using the slider.

Under "Saved Paswords" You can check whether your name and password for classicalmusic guide.com has been saved and you can delete any outdated ones.

In Safari, do not enable "Private Browsing".

BTW, if the type is too small for aging eyes, u can try "pinch zooming" by spreading thumb and forefinger on the touchscreen. I use it all the time and never even think about it anymore.

All this reminds me, I believe Alan uses a tablet rather than a real computer for nearly everything, including Internet browsing. What OS and browser he uses, I've no idea, but I suspect my advice about Firefox won't be useful to him.

Thanks to jserraglio who understood that this was an ipad problem and made good suggestions.I went into settings and made corrections. Let's see if this works.
