That's WQXR, New York City's oldest and primary classical music radio station. It was formerly owned by the New York Times as a commercial, for-profit station, but in 2009 it went through fundamental changes described here, essentially a downgrade:

The new head, Shannon Connelly, is all about "digital music," so maybe her job is to increase and improve WQXR's presence on the Internet, since it has all but vanished from the airwaves following the 2009 transition. (You can already "tune" to WQXR at its web site, http://www.wqxr.org.) Lots of doomsaying in comments on this article. But the article doesn't say.

Is this real news or fake news? Slipped Disc is Norman Lebrecht's domain, and by now you should know how unreliable he is. So far, none of this has been reported in the New York Times or any other true news outlet. When/if it is, maybe we'll find out what it signifies.
