Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan and Floyd Mayweather are the three members of this club to date.

[Another] athlete who's made it very clear he wants into the [billionaire] club: LeBron James.

The NBA player seems to be well on his way. He's made millions over his playing career and has signed lucrative endorsements, including a lifetime deal with Nike in 2015. And he's also befriended billionaire investor Warren Buffett.

James' high school friend and business partner, Maverick Carter, told CNN Money in 2007 that James' billion-dollar goal hinged on his investments more than his playing income or endorsement deals.
