This site tells us all about that, and for the two worst cases I have read independently to confirm it. Our two unhealthiest presidents were John F. Kennedy and, unbelievably, George Washington. Kennedy actual underwent what was then called the last rites three times, and in those days Extreme Unction was only administered to someone who was expected immediately to die. George Washington was a tissue of health problems, not even starting with smallpox, and led a charmed life until he died unexpectedly of a simple upper respiratory infection poorly treated by quack doctors who basically bled him to death. (Perhaps it was bacterial epiglottitis, but in those days there were neither antibiotics nor the knowledge of how to perform a tracheotomy.)

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

Woodrow wilson was in bad shape for some time if I'm not mistaken. What about problems of mental health-I guess you know who I'm thinking of. Regards, Len

Re: Just for fun, the health of presidents
Wilson had his stroke late in his presidency during his desperate and unsuccessful attempt to get the US to join the League of Nations. Before that he was virile and one of only two presidents who married twice successively (and in his case without divorce being involved). We could go on about a lot of other things, such as Wilson's many character flaws, but the two presidents I named started having their severe health problems while they were still teenagers. (Getting ready for Academic Bowl next Wednesday, don't you know, and presidential trivia is always a good topic, though I would have to frame the questions in such a way that high school students could be expected to answer them )lennygoran wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2017 5:59 amWoodrow wilson was in bad shape for some time if I'm not mistaken.
