I just recently prepared a piano at a theater that is presenting three live shows on Patsy Cline, whose voice was incredible for the music she sang. Another great artist who died s tragically at age 30 in an air crash. It wasn't until I saw the film "Sweet Dreams" [with Jessica Lange, 1985] that I learned about Patsy. One wonders if she had studied opera, given her range and ability to express so well, if we might have had another opera star along the way.
I feel pretty much the same about the voice of Roy Orbison whose upper register was amazing.
So much for my delving into other than the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods!

Re: Patsy Cline's memory lives on!
I grew up hearing Patsy Cline on the radio. She was a master at her style. I often had high school students who worked hard to do some Patsy songs.
