No single birthplace for modern humans, scientists now say

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

Interesting. Maybe so, maybe not, as reported this sounds more like a compromise among differing opinions than a conclusion firmly based on evidence. Most likely there's a scientific paper in a professional journal that makes the case properly.

I saw some of that as a point of amusement, David, but of course it explains nothing. Everything we really know has a rational explanation within our compass, which is something we may glory in. Positing "ancient aliens" is right up there with saying that God is responsible for everything we still do not understand. I'm sure you realize this, and that my post is perhaps gratuitous.

notice the wink in my statement...of course I was joking. However, God exists and I am a believer. No wink.

And your point of proof? The burden is on you, not on me to prove that there is no such being.

It's the 'point of proof' that you use. The immeasurable can not be measured. I hope you someday believe.

If it was aliens who fell to Earth, where are the fossils of their parachutes?

Then you must prove it wasn’t the Flying Spaghetti Monster

Thank you, Henry. Though your comparison is a little off the wall, this time I can agree with you.

I grew up as a very strong believer. That's why I can still post intelligently when the topic is Christianity, especially Catholic Christianity. Children are children, you know. Then I saw in a mirror, darkly. Now I see face-to-face. Accepting that all we see is all there is is an intellectual development, and an end-stage one. There is no turning back.

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.
