Recently we've been trying to find a decent sit down place to have pizza and a salad with some wine in a decent atmosphere in nyc-for years we concentrated on every kind of fancy and ethnic experience except this choice-anyway the famous patsy's which over the years we've passed so often after parking the car in the west 70's failed it's first ever test from a taste point of view-see photo 2-otoh our first ever uno chicago pizza next to our springfield Ma hotel passed with flying colors-see photo 1-of course only a thin crusted pizza which they have will do for us new yorkers! During the spring when I was substituting at a nearby school, I tried to drop in at the Pizzeria Uno in outer Saratoga as I had many times before. It was out of business, which led me to assume that the entire chain was gone.
There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

Anybody should be willin' to drive 500 mi. for an authentic NYC-style pizzeria cum restaurant when your own hometown is unable to provide one for you. Well, this upscale pizzeria/restaurant in Gordon Square on our gorgeous West Side opens at 4 pm today.lennygoran wrote: ↑Sat Aug 04, 2018 9:50 amRecently we've been trying to find a decent sit down place to have pizza and a salad with some wine in a decent atmosphere in nyc

There's a Pizzeria Uno in Manhattan on Columbus Avenue near 81st Street. Susi Schneider and family (and I) used to stop there after seeing Shakespeare or something at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. I'm not a pizza person so I usually had something else, but they liked the pizza there.

John seems to me I've seen alot of them while on the road but didn't really know alot about them except I definitely don't want the deep dish pizza-give me thin crust anytime! Len
