I speak, of course, of MTT himself--Michael Tilson Thomas. Someone who made a genuine contribution to the arts.
It's almost enough (almost, mind you!) to make up for all the Steve Martins, Stings, Lionel Richies, Norman Lears, and rock groups like the Eagles or Led Zeppelin, who won it in the past.
As much as I like Neil Diamond, the notion of him receiving a Kennedy Center Honor seems a tad far-fetched.

Trump and his wife's refusal to attend these ceremonies seem, to me, to be the only thing he's doing right. (Though, to do so IS better form and more presidential. )

The Kennedy Center awards have always been mainly about popular entertainment, though with window dressing.
