It’s pretty clear who is being “pilloried” here and it ain’t the Woke-hunting tag team.

Three creatures are especially cacophonous: geese, snakes, and fools. Now Belle’s “hugely intelligent” woke hunters (epigones of the medieval scholastics) have every right, of course, to sound off however they please, but it would help if they would stand forth beforehand and be identified.
