Hepburn in "Little Women"

Here's the place to talk about DVDs (or VHS) films and movies you have seen on television and recommend or don't recommend. Discuss actors and scores, too.

Hepburn in "Little Women"

Post by Lance » Thu Feb 18, 2010 12:47 am

As a great admirer of Katharine Hepburn, I never could quite figure out her role in "Little Women." In fact, I can't stand the film. Would someone please tell me why I feel this way?

For that matter, can you figure out her first Oscar movie, Morning Glory? Things were different in those days (I know that's not much of an explanation).

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

It's a chick flik. I can't stand it either, in any incarnation. I don't like Jane Austen's works turned into movies either, with the single exception of Clueless.

If memory serves, it was a successful B'way play. That might account for it.

Yes, good things I've heard about Little Foxes. It's just that I hear people praising Hepburn in Little Women and I can't quite figure out what others are seeing/hearing that I am not!
