Watched this 1946 black and white Vincent Price film on TCM last night. I’ve always been fan of Mr. Price and his spooky rendition of characters.
The film centered around a woman going to the estate of Mr. Price and becoming acclimated to the new way of life offered there. Slowly though she begins to notice the bizarre things that occur there and all wonder what goes on in the secret upstairs room.
For a classical reference, a harpsichord is played in the film and it is heard at times to be played by a ghost who sings.
Overall it was an enjoyable film.

How did I manage to miss this one? Dr. Phibes (both), Theatre of Blood, even The Tingler, yes, I've seen them all (well, NOT, but you get the point). And I just love the guy! As you may know, he was a great art connoisseur, and when he came to Washington, he appeared on the local Desert Island Disks and explained that he had to wear sneakers because he was on his feet so long at the National Gallery. The thought that I might have encountered Vincent Price just walking around the National Gallery like everybody else gave me palpitations!
There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

I've seen a great deal of his films too. My favorite has to be The Haunted Palace.
