Here's the place to talk about DVDs (or VHS) films and movies you have seen on television and recommend or don't recommend. Discuss actors and scores, too.

Recently I found in my local library the DVDs of The Winds of War and War and Rememberance. 30 hours of splendid performances, beautifully filmed in locations all over Europe. If you have never seen it you are in for a treat. If you saw it when it was on TV back in the 80s it is worth seeing again. Highly recommended.

I watched most of it and also read a substantial portion of the first book, but I'm afraid I found it to be, like everything Wouk wrote except The Caine Mutiny, a lumbering melodrama.
There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.
