You will enjoy Gregory Mank's Its Alive! Everything you may want to know abount the films. Very thoroughly researched. Your library system can get it for you. Highly recommended.

People might also enjoy Gods and Monsters, a fictionalized but not entirely fiction story about the last years of James Whale, the director of Bride of Frankenstein (and, incongruously, Showboat).

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

This weekend I had an opportunity to see The Bride of Frankenstein on late night TV. My wife noted that "you've already seen that movie a hundred times," and I remarked something akin to "there's nothin' like a hundred and one!"

Too, recently I picked up No. 000576 of the "Limited Numbered Edition on Slime Green Vinyl" of the 1935 Film Music composed by Franz Waxman of The Bride of Frankenstein. A great listen, and the cover art is "classic". Not to mention the look of that green slab of wax spinning on my VPI ScoutMaster.
