Bluebeard (2009) dir. Catherine Breillat

Streaming now on Kanopy.

Breillat has a reputation for being a controversially risqué filmmaker, but her version Barbe-Bleue was a pretty straightforward fairytale, though somewhat gory in places. It might actually appeal to some children.

I particularly liked the framing device of the two young girls in the attic.
