A James Bond binge weekend

Here's the place to talk about DVDs (or VHS) films and movies you have seen on television and recommend or don't recommend. Discuss actors and scores, too.

A James Bond binge weekend

Post by jserraglio » Mon Jan 15, 2024 2:51 pm

Over this long MLK holiday weekend, I streamed the five Daniel Craig Bond movies on my new Fire TV Stick 4K Max.

Casino Royale" (2006)
"Quantum of Solace" (2008)
"Skyfall" (2012)
"Spectre" (2015)
"No Time to Die" (2021)

I had seen all but one of them already, but along with the Godfather Trilogy and the Mission Impossible franchise, I try to watch them every year.

I ran this data through the 'accurate intention evaluation' device I invented last week. It came out - 'He wants to admire the Bond girls again'.

You got me there! I've forever had a letch for knockout Bond Girl, Judi Dench. What a rack on that honeypot!

Seriously, it is obvious you haven't bothered to see this magnificent set of films because "Bond girls", although present at times in a minor key, are not the main attraction, not by a long shot. You must be thinking of the ones with Connery, Moore, et al.

Now you have me, for I haven't seen a Bond flick in quite a while. Your lechery knows no bounds, sir!

But unlike some Presidential hopefuls with pasts so checkered they appeal to Evangelicals in search of sinners that will accept Jesus, I am not paying out both alimony and defamation judgements, and I have no trophy wife demanding a do-over on her prenup.

No, seriously, the Roger Craig flicks are good clean PG-13 action / adventure entertainment. No lingering sex scenes that I can recall.

To go along with the Bond films - here's one which documents the Bond music. It's really great.

I’ve seen it and agree.
