The book is basically unreadable to me, but you can hear the structure when Joyce reads it

Molly Bloom's closing monologue in Ulysses must also be heard either in the imagination or in reality as read aloud by a great actress.

Representing not, in my opinion, the same exalted level of literary accomplishment, but something culturally equally fundamental, here is T.S. Eliot reading from The Waste Land (I happened to remember this from college, when you couldn't just push a button and summon it):
