Sarah M. Broom: The Yellow House (2019)

Post by jserraglio » Sat Mar 07, 2020 1:15 pm

Just started reading this 2019 nonfiction National Book Award winning memoir yesterday — Sarah Broom's (born 1979) debut book. It focuses on the displacement of Ms. Broom's childhood family and home (her family's 'Yellow House' in her New Orleans East neighborhood) in the wake of Hurricane Katrina but gradually zooms out to encompass a history of marginalized people in New Orleans over the past hundred years.
