The action of this novel of manners is set in London during the sexual revolution of the late 1960’s. The author casts a gently sardonic eye on the doings and misdoings of her characters.
I think the book says more about the post-sixties era than the sixties decade itself, which Hadley would have been a bit too young to experience firsthand.
I did enjoy the outlandish, often funny plot and the antics of its childish grownups and grownup children though.
