Cheney was on the House floor on Jan. 6, and she gives the reader a play-by-play account of what she saw and heard.
She also argues persuasively for maintaining our current constitutional structure, including the Electoral College.
No Bill of Rights by itself has ever guaranteed freedom, Cheney states, paraphrasing the late Justice Antonin Scalia. Only our structure of federalism with all of its built-in checks and balances has prevented one-man or one-party rule.
She convinced me to reconsider my support for abolishing the Electoral College.

Finally finished it. Great book. I could definitely live with her as POTUS or VP in a unity govt.

Joseph so glad she spoke out about how dangerous it is that SCOTUS is dragging its feet on deciding the immunity issue-if the people don't get to see judgements on trump before the election that will be so unfair!
