Taking a Sabbatical

Post by MaestroDJS » Sun Jul 10, 2005 7:23 pm

Not that anyone will miss me, but life has suddenly become extremely busy, so I must cut back on many of my activities. Alas I can't participate in this forum (nor several of my other online discussions) in a meaningful way for the foreseeable future. Life sure is funny sometimes, but rest assured that this sabbatical is for some delightful reasons. Thank you all for the opportunity to exchange musical ideas for the past 2 years, and to learn from greater minds than mine.

Harmoniously,

Dave

Is that what they're calling those tours to Thailand now?

Friends, Relatives, Fellow Countrymen:

No we haven't gone over the edge, although it seems like it. Latest news:

I'm working 14-hour days at the Nestlé factory near Chicago, expanding a system I originally installed in 1993. If you've ever eaten Pearson's Nips hard candies, my automation batches it. This is one of my more delicious engineering projects.

Denise's publisher (Penguin Putnam, New York) phoned her once, twice and thrice Wednesday, jumping for joy that her 7th book Murder of a Smart Cookie is No. 11 on the Barnes & Noble bestsellers list. This is not just their web site but their brick-and-morter stores! Now shooting for the Top Ten (quoth Maxwell Smart: "Missed it by that much.")! Borders, Waldens and Amazon are also selling very well, and her editor thinks this could be a breakthrough, so we're giving it our best efforts.

Meanwhile, the contractors have begun the foundation work for our house addition, and they're scaring our cat in the process. Probably the most exercise our cat has had in years. :)

These are only a few of the events going on at the moment. Every so often in life, everything seems to happen at once. Thank goodness almost all of it is good.
