From today's New York Daily News:
Gov's overanxious
All right, I'd like to see a show of hands. Everybody who thinks Gov. Pataki has an actual chance of someday becoming President of the United States. Let's see 'em. Raise those hands high.
Anybody? Anybody?
I didn't think so.
Well, except for you, George, but you don't count - who doesn't harbor, in his secret heart, the sneaking suspicion that he might make an excellent President? I sure do. I've got a blue suit and everything. But it's not like I'm quitting the day job. The smart thing to do would have been to look for inspiration to Franklin D. Roosevelt, the previous former governor of New York elected President. You know when he resigned, don't you? After he was elected to the White House.
Too late now. I suppose it's only a matter of time until Pataki's spotted on a park bench, next to Mario Cuomo.

Count me out. Too disinfluential for my tastes. I'd rather be Bill Gates.Ralph wrote: Well, except for you, George, but you don't count - who doesn't harbor, in his secret heart, the sneaking suspicion that he might make an excellent President? I sure do.
