I'm guessing something that's shipped from Canada to the U.S. shouldn't be considered an import? :?

Hmm, Corlyss, my thought is that since this is a recording by an American ensemble, it ought to be of primary interest to American collectors, but it is availabe only as an import.

I didn't notice the part about Canada, but I just suppose, perhaps wrongly, that that is where the nearest storage facility and/or CD factory is. I don't think, again perhaps wrongly, things from Canada have been considered "imports" since the NAFTA treaty. It looks to me like it is being primarily marketed elsewhere, but I could be wrong.

I think he means that if it was recorded in Bethlehem, PA, why does it have be imported from another country?

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

:) This sounds like pharmaceuticals. You make them, we sell them back to you. Maybe it's the northern hoarding instinct due to long winters.

Well, come to think of it, CDs/music are like drugs to me. It really doesn't matter from whence they come. In fact Canada offers a lot of CDs we can't get in the USA. Actually, I'm very much in love with the cultural scene in Canada. They are way ahead of us in regard to their young people being interested in classical music, their training, concert scene, etc.
