Hello all,
I have a nice 10# lp for you in mp3 at:
http://homepages.ipact.nl/~otterhouse
Hans Schmidt-Isserstedt and the Hamburg Radio Symphony Orchestra
play 4 of Dvorak's Slavonic Dances. Not a repertoire where
I expected to find Schmidt-Isserstedt conducting!!
Was this 1954 recording ever re-issued?
Enjoy!!

Schmidt-Isserstedt had one of the most celebrated versions of the Beethoven Symphony No. 9, but I am not sure if it is still available. I'm too lazy to search through 300+ listings of the 9th Symphony at Amazon.
Does anyone know if the Schmidt-Isserstedt 9th is still available?

Isserstedt recorded one of the best versions of Schubert's 6th Symphony.
I also love his version of Dvorak's Serenade opus 44.

And he and Ashkenazy recorded the version that is probably the best of Mozart's piano Concerto K 466.

I had Schmidt-Isserstedt's recording of Beethoven's Third Symphony when I lived in California, but haven't seen it since I came to Germany.....it's a wonderful performance with the Vienna Philharmonic--- lyrical, noble and dramatic.

He was also the conductor of the historic Georg Kulenkampf recording of Schumann's Violin Concerto in Berlin, 1938.

A brilliant conductor!
