Corlyss' 8000th--did anyone notice?

Post by jbuck919 » Tue May 23, 2006 12:58 pm

Sometime within the last 24 hours Corlyss Drinkard, our beloved moderator, sneaked past her 8000th post, and that is after having had many thousands wiped out in a hacking snafu quite a while ago.

She gets a lot of disagreement from many other posters including myself, but she is half of what pays for this place, she is as sharp as a razor in her observations and comments, and the place would not be the charming salon (if I may put it that way) that it is without her. All best wishes, Corlyss.

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

Corlyss, you've made it into the rarefied stratosphere of communication
here!

Eloquent, well-read (well, someday you'll upgrade your literature!) passionate, smart, and one heck of an excellent moderator - along with Lance - it's a privilege to communicate with you. And I'm confident you'll get it right some day!

In the meanwhile, congratulations!

But will she ever get it LEFT some day?

Frankly, I'm tired of her. Same stuff over and over and over again ad nauseum, - completely predictable right down to the punctuation and emoticons.

I think she ought to get a job.

There is a difference between a slight tendency to a roast and a brainless dismissal.

If brainless, at least honest.

If that's what you think, I think you ought simply to read other posts.

Congratulations, Corlyss!

When you make it to 10,000 we will all have to chip in and by you a little gift. Maybe a free gas-tank fill-up at Little America.

Geez, - Probably 7,000 of the 8,000 "posts" have been merely copies of newspaper columns or journal articles written by others (where all of Corlyss' opinions derive from).

Congrats for being a good copier??

Yeh, what an accomplishment. Like a kid firing her squirt gun for the 8,000th time. She should be embarrassed for spending her life this way.

I am with you.

Thank you, Agnes and Miranda.

Better not let Werner hear you say that! He'll want to send you Frank Rich and Paul Krugman ravings from the NYT to cure you. Fate worse than death . . .
