Hey! Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Bill and I stumbled upon this site and was impressed by the number of people who love classical music! I thought I was rare! Anyway I look forward to chatting with everyone!

Thanks all!

I'm a fan of Vaughn Williams as well and Lately have been enjoying Dvorak a lot. when I was in school I got to sing Rutters' Requiem conducted by Rutter himself. it was pretty awesome.

Fantastic that you like Vaugh Williams. I love him myself. Lots of fine music there.

Hi bill, welcome to the forum!! You'd love it here... the people are all very friendly. And by the way, you've sang with Rutter conducting?! That's pretty amazing. are you in any choir now? I've sang and conducted his works too... those are all lovely pieces.

I'm not in any choir now, but while in school I was a vocal major so I sang it a lot of choirs! Being in Nashville like everyone else I'm trying to do the songwriting thing but I love all types of music and was trained classicaly.

While I thought I knew a lot after reading these forums I'm quickly realizing there's a lot out there to learn!

beware fo catching mahleria here. gustav mahler is mighty fine!

nashville speaking - my country preferences are pre-western swing style merger. that said -
i dig hank, sr but not so much hank, jr.
i got to see roy acuff and loved him.
danny davis and the nashville brass were a hoot because they played well and knew exactly what they were doing with hokey arrangements.

what are some of your song titles? have they been recorded yet?

Yes, we're a friendly, international bunch here.....I happen to live in the town where Franz Danzi was born. I think I was also instrumental (pun intended!) in helping to get a street named after him....
