Harnoncourt's Monteverdi L'Orfeo

Post by hautbois » Sat Jan 27, 2007 1:32 am

I was shown in History class today a video of the titled programme. Is there a commerical recording in dvd/cd format available nowadays? If so on which label? The beautiful ensemble is the Monteverdi orchestra, which i believe Gustav Leonhardt performs on harpsichord (if not mistaken?).

Is this the Ponnelle trilogy of Monteverdi productions for the Zurich Opera from the late 70s or early 80s? Harnoncourt conducted. They were presented on PBS so they should be available somewhere.
