When she started to play, Mr. Steinway came down and personally
rubbed his name off the piano. [Speaking about pianist &*$#@+#]

Hi Lance,

The Pearl disk I have of William Murdoch gives his death date as September 9, 1942. Another fine Australian Beethoven pianist who died at 54.

Bazzini is know only for his famous dance, a classic test of virtuosity for
violinists, but he had some charming chamber works. Try if you can his
6 SQ. With Cherubini's, the best italian SQ of the 19th.cen.IMO.
Larry Adler was a great virtuoso. He played popular pieces but also good
arrangements of classics. Listen if you find it his Enescu's famous romanian
raphsody. Beautiful.
