Had me scared there for a minute

Post by jbuck919 » Tue Jun 13, 2006 12:24 pm

No posts on either of the main boards except a message from Corlyss, "I have no idea what has happened to the boards." Then, as the Germans say, alles klar.

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

I logged on and was met with empty fora except for Karl's tentative post. I panicked. I thought we'd been hacked again.

To top it off, Lance's message to me last night was that he wasn't having any download problems and an ambivalent 'maybe' about starting new ones. Then blam! He does it without any of our usual preparation, i.e., telling the members what we're going to do and to be consious of the shortcut problem that confuses folks sometimes, then doing it, then telling the members what we done. Left hand, right hand sort of thing . . .

As soon as I got me bearin's, I removed my message and began moving current dialogs from the old fora to the new and locking the old fora to prevent folks from posting there when everyone else was over on the new boards.

It's funny that with an eight hour time difference we saw the same situation at the same time. I also saw Karl's forlorn post, and that you had removed your comment.

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

So all is well?

Appears so. This should speed things up a tad.

Of course, all is well - to judge by his photo signature, Ralph is looking better and better.

Actually, not all is well. For example, I clicked on the "Post Reply" button and was able to post without having to sign in. Hence, there has been the sudden appearance of several "guest" posters.

By the way, this is Gary.

We have to set the permissions every time we start new forums. Sometimes we forget. I have set them now, so you will have to sign in to post.

I'm relieved that it's not so sluggish ... but how 'bout we go out to NY and smack that man around a bit! :)
