More than a million demonstrate in Madrid

Post by pizza » Wed Jun 14, 2006 7:51 am

A few days ago, over a million people demonstrated in Madrid against the Spanish leftist government's plan to negotiate with ETA terrorists.

Apparently not of sufficient importance to the MSM to bring it to the attention of the American public.

Well Pizza, you've undoubtedly heard that saying "if it doesn't bleed, it doesn't lead". To that I would add that for the MSM, if it doesn't damage Bush, it doesn't lead. Since some of those pictures showed Spaniards carrying signs equating Zapetero (the anti Iraq war guy) with bin Laden, such sentiments just don't fit with the MSM agenda of demonizing Bush and making light of the need to fight terrorism.

* MADRID -- Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero said he would begin peace talks with the Basque armed separatist group ETA this month, despite protests Saturday in which hundreds of thousands of Spaniards allied to the conservative Popular Party marched against Zapatero's plans and demanded that ETA disarm before talks begin. Zapatero said the majority of Spaniards backed negotiations to end 38 years of ETA violence.

COSIMA!

I thought you were dead! So glad to see you back.

Funny. Negotiating with Al Qaeda is okay, but negotiating with ETA is not. Lessee, who can do the greatest damage? Does ETA have Spain over an oil barrel and using it to divorce Spain from it's western values? No. Is ETA trying to destroy Western civilization? No. Is ETA trying to get nuclear weapons? No. Can ETA bring down Spanish governments? Could do. Mmmmm.
